Supporting Our Seniors. Strengthening Our Community.

The Friends of the Bedford Council on Aging (FBCOA) plays a key role in supporting the local council by organizing fundraising efforts that provide essential financial resources. Through memberships, events, and outreach, the organization raises awareness of our mission and encourages community involvement.

By building a sense of shared responsibility, the FBCOA helps secure the funding needed for the Bedford Council on Aging to strengthen and expand its services, enhancing the quality of life for local seniors and promoting a more age-friendly community.

Public Announcement:

Medical Rides

The FRIENDS of the Bedford Council on Aging invite you to watch a short video highlighting a growing challenge facing our community: helping Bedford seniors get to essential medical appointments.

Nearly one-third of Bedford residents are age 60 or older, and the need for medical transportation continues to grow. This video explains why reliable transportation is so important—and how our community can help ensure that no senior misses needed healthcare simply because they have no way to get there.

Please take a few minutes to watch and share this video. If you’d like to help, every donation makes a difference.

Who Are The Friends?

The Friends of the Bedford Council on Aging (FBCOA) are driven by a simple belief: Bedford’s older adults deserve connection, care, and opportunities to thrive. With your support—through memberships, donations, community partnership, and volunteerism—we help bring that belief to life.

The Friends of the Bedford Council on Aging are an active, volunteer, non-profit, multi-age, community-driven organization that raises essential funds to support and enhance the programs offered by the COA.

Your contributions help keep the COA buzzing with activity: morning coffee and the Fix-It Shop, day trips and movies, celebrations, workshops, the pool table room, and the small everyday moments that make people feel welcome and seen. They also ensure that essential services—wellness programs, healthcare assistance, transportation, and educational offerings—are available to the older adults.  Today, that represents one third of our Bedford community.

Together, we are creating a stronger, kinder, and more age-friendly Bedford.

To our members and sponsors:  Thank you for helping us fulfill our mission.
